Play DX Team presents: listening to Radio Paradise FM Belgium (now heard on 1350 AM)

La nostra storia radiofonica inizia nel novembre 2017 quando Roberto Pavanello riceve una bella risposta con QSL elettronica per un suo rapporto di ascolto inviato ad una pirata, Radio Paradise FM, operante dal Belgio con musica rock pop sulla frequenza di 1440 kHz, precedentemente occupata da RTL Lussemburgo col potentissimo trasmettitore di Marnach, 1300 kW. Purtroppo spento dal 2016 per il costo eccessivo del mantenimento in funzione del trasmettitore.

Nel corso del 2018 e inizio 2019 Radio Paradise FM aveva operato irregolarmente a causa del fatto che non aveva la autorizzazione per trasmettere sulle onde medie, dato che nel Belgio le autorità postali sono molto attente a chi non rispetta le regole, pertanto diffondeva in molto irregolare.

Nel Febbraio l'emittente era stata ascoltata sempre sulla frequenza dei 1440 kHz da Dario Monferini con interesanti programmi di diffusione notturna di long play bootleg dei Rolling Stones però senza fare gli annunci.

Poi l'emittente aveva fatto prove su 621 kHz frequenza utilizzata da RTBF Radio Vive Citè di Bruxelles che nel frattempo aveva chiuso sui 621 kHz ancora per motivi economici ed aveva proseguito le sue trasmissioni in FM dove tuttora modula.

Ma a causa delle interferenze dei ripetitori della RNE Radio 1 anche loro sulla frequenza di 621 kHz, gli amici di Radio Paradise FM interrompevano l'utilizzo dei 621 kHz.

Arriviamo così alla fine di marzo 2020 quando il Pavanello notava un segnale sui 1350 kHz con musica pop rock attorno le 2300 UTC dopo che sulla frequenza di 1350 kHz il ripetitore armeno di TWR Gavar con 1000 kW viene spento attorno alle 2300 UTC, ma a causa del forte rumore statico e della propagazione ballerina, non riusciva ad capire cosa fosse.

Dal 27 marzo cominciavo un monitoraggio della frequenza ed il 29 marzo ricevevo il programma con annuncio ripetuto varie volte "NIGHT ROCK REVOLUTION" iniziavo ad esaminare tutte le fonti disponibili su internet on line cominciando dalla MW List ma qui venivano riportate attive molte emittenti low power Inglesi di Ospedali ed Università tutte con 1 Watt di potenza....un po difficile che il segnale di 1 Watt riesca ad arrivare nel nord Italia...anche se talvolta la propagazione fa miracoli.

Proseguivo con la ricerca sui bollettini Inglesi mensili del BDXC e del MWC ma non trovavo nulla di utile.... alla fine provavo con il Ydun's Medium Wave Info compilato con cura dalla Dxer Ydun Ruiz dalla Danimarca.....e BINGO ! trovavo una interessante informazione:

Dunque aprivo la Web e trovavo il real audio e constatavo che il programma in onda su 1350 kHz era lo stesso in onda sul real audio di Radio Paradise FM.

La ricerca mi aveva preso 4 ore... durante le quali sui 1350 kHz erano arrivati (sopra e sotto) segnali dalla Argentina (Radio Buenos Aires), dal Brasile (Super Rede Boa Vontade, Salvador), dal Porto Rico (Radio WEGA, Vega Baja), attorno alle ore 0300 UTC l'emittente pirata interrompeva la trasmissione sui 1350 kHz ma la proseguiva sul real audio dato che Radio Paradise FM opera anche in FM.

1) A Soviet radio back from the past. On 1611 kHz Dario heard a real interesting "clandestine", as he defines it,  radio from Russia (i seems) with old Soviet songs. In the bottom you can find what in Finland serious listeners say about it.

2) For the first time I could listen to a station from Mozambique. It was on 1206 kHz, now a free channel.

3) Nice to report fair also in Italy on 1494 a relay of Coast FM (Tenerife) via Ireland

4) An Italian unid radio is testing (irr) on 1188

About the Russian-Soviet radio on 1611 Kari Kallio, Lahti Finland (14/3-2020) reported:

DX Info about Russian Clandestine MW radio station embarrassing in the Northern Europe.
 It started very innocent like for maybe two weeks ago as an odd disturbance under 1602 kHz and then in the early  state some could note anyhow there speaking in Russian language which only few can understand here in the North,  however.

It let arise a vivid speculation ao. in the SDXL-AM-group what it was all about where it got the nickname  "UNID 1599,62 kHz". Gradually the station started to crawl upwards and some heard it at least once on 1620  kHz...but it turned around and went downwards, seemingly now to be parked on 1611 kHz. It is the frequency where  quite often many Dutch pirate radios use to transmit mainly pop or ethnic polka music. So inside their reception area  this newcomer is not possible to be heard.

Also among the Finnish DXers abnormalities were reported in reception  with different antennas. JM Nurmela in Central Finland logged that he can hear to the station with the backbeam of  his yankee antennawire but only Dutch polka with some other. The station is frequently S9-strong at least in the  remote SW Finnish Kiwi SDR receiver in Turku as well in Belarussia.

I asked there a DXer Alex to listen to the  program and make notes about it. He analysed also some of my to him posted soundclips about contents. "This is a  radio or movie magazine entry from the 1950s (?) tells about difficulties in the production of phonograph records (the  first track is about helping the Red Army in this, the second track is about replacing old phonograph records with new  ones at exchange points).
No ID!" Last night he send me his own observations as follows: "On the evening of 12 and  13, I listened to 1611, again archived records * Good morning * and * Good evening * 60s-70s All-Union Radio  (USSR), there was no identification of who is relaying. Alex".

So far can we say that somebody has decided to dig very, over a half decade old filed archives radio recordings  from the USSR as drama and radio plays to replay them anew to the audience which has probably not ever heard  them live, now on the same old work-place: AM radio and on the Medium Waves.
Is this some sublime trial to revive  some kind of Museum Radio somewhere in the russophone world along the Southern beaches of the Baltic Sea or  somewhere deeper in the inland? The time will later probably light up what it in fact was - a serious project or only   fun" like a pirate radio.

Radio Zona Rossa 6310 kHz - La radio ai tempi del coronavirus

L'amico DXer Roberto Pavanello segnala su 6310 kHz Radio Zona Rossa. Un ascolto davvero interessante perché si tratta di una trasmissione pensata appositamente per dare informazioni alla popolazione sulla crisi legata al coronavirus, ma anche per fare sentire una voce amica alla popolazione confinata in casa.

Radio Zona Rossa, per essere più esatti è prodotta da Radio Codogno, che trasmette dalla zona della Lombardia da cui si è diffusa in regione e non solo l'epidemia virale.

In FM, sui 100.35 MHz,  Radio Zona Rossa va on air alle 11.00 di mattina e alle 17.00 nel pomeriggio (ora locale) ed è realizzata in collaborazione con Protezione civile e il Comune di Codogno.

Ma adesso, evidentemente, viene ritrasmessa anche in onde corte sui 6310 kHz

L'emittente officiale gestita dal Governo Brasiliano, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per trasmettere su 10000 kHz da Rio de Janeiro presso la sede del centro DSHO Division Service Hour Observatory dell'Osservatorio Nazionale Brasiliano di Rio de Janeiro.

Siamo stati invitati a visitarla dal Capo Ingeniere Mr. Ozenildo de Farias Dantas, direttore della operatività e mantenimento del trasmettitore.

La sede storica della direzione è situata in un grande edificio nell'ampio parco, mentre di fianco, in un piccolo edificio, si trova il trasmettitore.

Nel reportage sono presentati i dati tecnici e splendide foto degli impianti, il trasmettitore è della Redifon Telecommunications Limited, la potenza è di soli 1000 Watts. Seguono poi varie foto delle antenne situate anche loro nel grande parco, di proprietà del Governo Brasiliano.
