In generale pochi segnali alla volta, molto variabili in intensità, spesso focalizzati su un'area medio-piccola che tendeva a spostarsi lentamente.

Ad esempio a un certo punto arrivavano 3 radio tutte da Odessa, Ucraina, sul mar Nero. Poi la propagazione ES si è accorciata e sono arrivate Vocea Basarabiei dalla Moldavia, e Radio Maria dall'Ucraina occidentale
