In Brasile inizia a decollare la eFM ovvero la banda FM estesa, che va dai 76.1 MHz ai 87.3 MHz, aggiungendosi alla classica 87.5-108 MHz ormai troppo affollata.
Sono già attive alcune radio. Ma, in particolare, potrebbe essere un altro colpo alle emittenti in Onde Medie. Da quello che si legge molte di queste stanno ipotizzando di lasciare le MW per passare alle eFM in un paio di anni. In questo periodo saranno presenti su entrambe le bande.

The legal framework for the extended FM band (76-88MHz freed as part of the Digital TV dividend) have been approved and migration plan of all but major MW stations has been consolidated. Since last month, MW stations based on state capitals and willing to leave MW started to simulcast on eFM. I believe the simulcast period will last 1-2 years (so listener can replace their receivers). The eFM was created to address the exhausting of the standard 88-108MHz FM segment.
