Onde medie tempestose, il caso di Free Radio AM RDE. Comunicato di AssAMGroup

In Italia è in atto una "guerra delle onde medie". In particolare si combatte sulla frequenza dei 1584 kHz e ad essere danneggiata è Free Radio AM -RDE che trasmette da Trieste. I responsabili dell'emittente (Ass.AMGroup, che gestisce anche AM Classic su 819 kHz) lamentano anche trasmissioni fake che imitano l'originale emittendo però programmi fasulli e offensivi.
Poiché la questione interessa anche chi ascolta la radio e da Free Radio AM - RDE arriva anche un appello ai radioascoltatori, riportiamo di seguito il comunicato dell'emittente (leggibile anche sul suo sito: CLICCA QUI)

Comunicato 

Free Radio AM – Radio Diffusione Europea è al centro di un attacco alla propria credibilità, da parte di operatori radiofonici illegali.
Da diversi mesi e in più forme, la nostra emittente, in ore serali viene sovrapposta da segnali ben riconosciuti, con l’intento di creare disturbo e danno di immagine.
Tali segnali vengono irradiati con potenze elevate e diversi identificativi.

Fatto ancor più grave che nell’ultimo periodo tale disturbo assume la connotazione di clone vero e proprio della nostra emittente. Vengono registrati i nostri Jingle e le nostre voci, modificati e “conditi” anche da insulti, bestemmie ed improperi.

I segnali disturbano oltre alla nostra emittente anche stazioni radiofoniche europee che possono individuare nella scrivente l’artefice di tale scempio.

Che ci sia un progetto criminale atto a far desistere la nostra emittente dal proseguire nelle sue emissioni, è un dato di fatto.
Di tale situazione è al corrente il Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico in tutte le sezioni competenti già dal mese di gennaio 2018. Nonostante numerosi contatti e rassicurazioni, nulla è stato fatto almeno apparentemente fino ad oggi.

Che la situazione sia in peggioramento ne è conferma il fatto che da nostri rilevamenti i segnali clonati della nostra emittente si stiano moltiplicando.
Prendiamo le distanze da qualsiasi identificativo che possa trasmettere jingle offensivi, blasfemi e quant’altro.

Attendiamo inoltre una risposta seria, forte e definitiva su questa vergogna dagli organi competenti quanto prima.
Invitiamo a segnalare alla nostra redazione qualsiasi nefandezza che possa essere ascoltata sulla sedicente Radio Diffusione Europea specificando anche l’orario e la zona di ricezione.

RSPduo - nuovo SDR dual tuner a 14 bit della SDRplay

L'annuncio ufficiale è stato dato il 18 maggio (clicca qui), è arrivato un nuovo SDRplay: RSPduo.

Si tratta di un ricevitore dual tuner a 14 bit, simile nell'aspetto ma completamente differente, dal punto di vista progettuale, rispetto agli altri tre rx prodotti dalla casa inglese. Mantiene però la stessa filosofia di mercato, quella di offrire un prodotto di buona qualità a un prezzo accettabile: 239,94 sterline IVA inclusa, che equivalgono a 274,44 euro al cambio attuale (19 maggio 2018).

Un ricevitore con due tuner che permette, se utilizzati entrambi, di offrire la ricezione contemporanea su due bande diverse, nel range 1 kHz - 2 GHz. Ciascuna banda ricevuta può al massimo raggiungere i 2 MHz di ampiezza. Come dire: le onde lunghe e medie con un tuner e i 144 MHz con l'altro... allo stesso tempo.
Ma il doppio tuner permette anche altre utilizzazioni più impegnative, tra cui sono riportate:
- Mixing and matching applications simultaneously  (e.g. ADS - B and ATC scanning)
- Phase and time coherent demodulation of two receivers

Utilizzato invece nel modo tradizionale RSPduo permette di visualizzare fino a 10 MHz di banda, anche se occorre ricordare che a risoluzione ADC a 14 bit è presente fino a un bandwidth massimo di 6 MHz. Sopra si scende a 12 bit.

Il tuner 1 dispone di 2 antenne (High Z e 50 Ohm), il secondo di una sola antenna a 50 Ohm

Bandscan automatico: GuindaSoft FM RDS Receiver

GuindaSoft FM RDS Receiver - Software al lavoro

Un monitoraggio delle FM. Automatico, continuo con tanto di servizio email che periodicamente invia un messaggio all'indirizzo prescelto con il bandscan in formato CSV, apribile con Excel o Lister, programma facile facile e gratuito dello stesso autore di questo progetto che prevede anche con un piccolo ricevitore poco costoso. Tutto questo è possibile, grazie a una realizzazione di Enrico Guindani IZ2NXF.

Il ricevitore-bandscanner (monitoring) nella sua versione base, ovvero senza display né manopole e pulsanti, è una semplice scatola con una presa per l'antenna e una per la cuffia (la cuffia funziona anche da antenna), oltre all'uscita USB per il collegamento al computer, da cui riceve anche l'alimentazione.

L'hardware è costituito da una scheda a microcontrollore Arduino (costo 20 euro, più o meno) che pilota un  FM tuner chip Si4703 di Silicon Laboratories. Questo tuner ha la selettività fissa intorno ai 200 kHz. Non è quindi adatto per monitoraggi "DX", ma è velocissimo nel catturare l'RDS (PS - PI code) in quelli locali.

Il software, come il ricevitore, è realizzato da Enrico Guindani IZ2NXF, noto anche come Guindasoft. Tramite esso si gestisce il ricevitore e la scansione automatica. L'utilizzo è molto semplice. I parametri da configurare sono pochi e comprensibili.

L'utilizzo è molto semplice. I parametri da configurare sono pochi e comprensibili (guarda le immagini).

Attualmente lo sto utilizzando a Bocca di Magra e mi faccio recapitare una mail con il bandscan ogni tot ore. Lo lascio funzionare in modo continuo, nel senso che lui fa il bandscan senza mai fermarsi e ogni volta che trova un PS o un PI code diversi li aggiunge.
E' chiaro che talvolta ci sono delle informazioni scorrette in quanto magari il PS non entra bene. Oppure ci sono dei doppioni della stessa radio se ha un PS dinamico. Comunque è sempre possibile salvare o cancellare il bandscan in corso e ripartire con uno nuovo. Il bandscan salvato poi può essere editato e/o pulito per l'uso voluto.

Ecco qui sotto un esempio del bandscan automatico lasciato andare H24 7/7 - si tratta dello scan numero 549 senza avere fatto nessuna pulizia. Il modo migliore per vedere se c'è qualche PI interessante è quello, ovviamente, di ordinare la colonna PI con Lister (o Excel) e darci una scorsa...

E' possibile scegliere la velocità del bandscan (quanti secondi il decoder si ferma su ogni frequenza), ma anche il range del bandscan: tutta la banda FM oppure una porzione prescelta a piacere, ad esempio solo da 87.5 a 94 Mhz. Occorre tenere conto che un segnale locale molto forte su X MHz potrà essere "registrato" anche a 100 kHz sopra o sotto (come si vede dall'immagine sopra). Come succede in tutte le radio che usano l'FM tuner chip Si4703 di Silicon Laboratories, in quanto il bandwidth è, come detto prima, generoso per avvantaggiare l'ascolto della musica.
